October might spell the beginning of autumn proper and be synonymous with a whole spectrum of burnt orange and bronze shades, but over the years we've come to expect a bold influx of pink too. October is the UK’s annualBreast Cancer Awareness Month, the time of the year when people show their support for the cause by wearing ribbons, sponsoring runs and brands leap into action by launching new bright pink editions of hero products, their standout pink branding a signal that a portion of their price gets donated to charities and organisations like Breast Cancer Awareness and Look Good Feel Better.
This year a number of breast cancer charities have teamed up with the likes of ghd,Trinny London and Carolina Herrera to raise awareness and funds meaning that those of us who are a little less than au fait with charity bake sale prep - and those of us who dominate the charity bake sale for that matter - have even avenues of support to go down this month.

And remember TLC, to touch, look, and check...
According to statistics from Breast Cancer now, almost half (47%) of women in the UK do not check their breasts regularly for potential signs of breast cancer, and one in 10 women have ‘never checked their breasts for new or unusual changes’.
When asked what stopped or prevented them from checking their breasts more regularly, almost half of women said they ‘forget’.
Remember, checking your breasts, upper chest and armpits only takes a few minutes, and if you find anything that concerns you always book in an appointment with your GP. Sign up to a monthly boob check reminder from CoppaFeel! here and brush up on the best technique below:
