The Very Best Beauty Looks From The 2016 BAFTAs

The BAFTAs are over for another year - but we're not quite ready to say goodbye yet. After all, what other time in the calendar presents such a bevy of British beauty for us to ogle at?

The stars of film and television took to the red carpet at the Royal Opera House to strut their stuff, and aside from the dozens of seriously envy-inducing frocks, we were pretty taken with the sparkling lids, glossy pouts and juicy complexions we saw.

It seems the name of the beauty game was fresh: all our favourite looks featured glossy tones and lashings of grown-up glitter. It was out with matte and in with glass-like sheeny lips, iridiscent smokey eyes and radiant complexions.

If we had to pick favourites - and it would be very cruel if you were to make us do so - we'd have to give particular props to Emilia Clarke and Kate Winslet. Two true English roses, both ladies looked beautifully sophisticated and impossibly elegant with all-Lancome looks. Makeup maestro Lisa Eldridge worked her magic on Kate, using Lancome's Rouge in Love in 181 to create her gorgeous red lip, and loaded up her lashes with Lancome's Grandiose Mascara in Black - so Hollywood. As for her skin, that healthy glow is thanks to Lancome's Blush Subtil in 02.

We also adore Lily Donaldson's dramatic, vampy look from her beachy locks to her statement pout. We love how she dressed down her scarlet lips with slightly slept-in locks. Finally, Laura Haddock looked especially lovely and radiant - her sculpted skin is courtesy of Shehla Shaikh and Lancome's Belle de Teint and Lancome Teint Idole Foundation - a match made in heaven if there ever was one.

BAFTA Best Beauty

heida-reed1 of 13

We love Heida's mermaid hair and her super-sexy plunging neckline. What we're most crushing on is her berry-toned pout - have you ever seen a more perfect shade? It's Lancome Rouge In Love in 185, if you want in.

Cate never puts a foot wrong on the red carpet, and this simple, clean look is no different.

dakota-johnson3 of 13

Dakota might have been pipped to the post for Rising Star by John Boyega, but she definitely went to top of our beauty lust list with this look. A warm coral lip and a healthy glow is the perfect spring beauty look.

dree-hemingway4 of 13

Statuesque beauty Dree Hemingway looked incredible with her gothic pout and statement brows. We love.

emilia-clarke5 of 13

Emilia's hair is seriously on point her - just when we thought we'd reached bob fatigue, Emilia pulls us back in with her tousled tresses. Time for a trip to the hairdressers...

isla-fisher6 of 13

Isla's another red carpet favourite here at Grazia - her glossy berry pout is dreamy with that glowing skin.

julianne-moore7 of 13

Julianne Moore could probably wear a bin bag and no makeup and still put us to shame - but we do love this clean look. How pretty is that lovely pink pout, too?

There's a multitude of ways in which we love Kate Winslet (her wit, her talent, her unapologetic love of her body), but right now, let's focus on her incredible hair. The perfect red carpet wave!

laura-bailey9 of 13

We love that Laura Bailey takes beauty risks - and boy, do they pay off. Everything from her mega-braids to her statement eyes is edgy and super chic.

Updos don't have to be stiff and boring - just look at how youthful and modern Laura Whitmore looks. Serious hair envy.

poppy-jamie11 of 13

Poppy is seriously working that beehive - and that's not an easy look to pull off! Ms Jamie, we salute you.

rooney-mara12 of 13

Rooney Mara has some of the best brows in the business - just look at those bad boys! We love her fresh, glowing complexion, too.

saorsie-ronan13 of 13

We love seeing Saorsie on the red carpet - no one else does a chunky feline flick quite like her.
