Tessica Brown has gone viral on TikTok after she used a heavy duty adhesive (called Gorilla Glue) when she ran out of her favourite hairspray. Tessica was styling in a beautiful slicked down look when she noticed her go-to strong hold hairspray was empty. Tessica felt an urge to improvise and made a grab for Gorilla Spray Adhesive, a heavy duty spray glue from the Gorilla Glue Company, that's a DIY staple for many households in the US. Taking to TikTok Tessica explained that her hair had been stuck in the same style for about a month and that it was 'not by choice'. Her post gained her a massive following. Her video went viral and has now been viewed nearly 4 million times.
Gorilla Glue took to Twitter to address the story. They wrote, 'We are aware of the situation and we are very sorry to hear about the unfortunate incident that Miss Brown experienced using our Spray Adhesive on her hair. This is a unique situation because this product is not indicated for use in or on hair as it is considered permanent. Our spray adhesive states in the warning label "do not swallow. Do not get in eyes, on skin or on clothing..." It is used for craft, home, auto or office projects to mount things to surfaces such as paper, cardboard, wood, laminate and fabric. We are glad to see in her recent video that Miss Brown has received medical treatment from her local medical facility and wish her the best.'
Tessica took to TikTok once more to update her new band of followers on the situation. Tessica revealed that she had visited St. Bernard Parish Hospital in Chalmette and received treatment. The staff attended to her and sent her home with sterilising water and acetone wipes. Acetone is commonly used to remove gel nail polish, that should give you an idea of how hardworking that substance is. Not something, in an ideal situation, that you'd want to have anywhere near your scalp! The process of removing the glue looks like it's going to be drawn-out and arduous.
