It may only be February but 2023 is already proving to be the year of major '90s revival. There's a Kate Moss biopic in the works, Barbie-core is trending like never before and Pamela Anderson is fast becoming our new favourite person, not least because she just revealed the secret hack to recreating her iconic nineties updo.
Get ready to get your knickers in a twist, no really, because in her new 'In The Bag' video with British Vogue, the Baywatch star, 55, claims the one and only thing you need to achieve the nostalgic Pam topknot is a G-String. In the video the actress, who is currently promoting her new Netflix documentary Pamela, A Love Story, says 'I don't know why I have a G-string in my purse, but don't tell me that you don't have a scrunchy.'
'This is a trick of the trade. We're really flashing back to the '90s. The tousled updo? Always had a pair of panties in them,' Pamela explains while effortlessly securing her blown-out bouncy blonde hair into place with a pair of pants.
The result? The quickest sultry, done-but-undone take on a high bun we've ever seen, and the most resourceful at that, bearing all the hallmarks of Pam's classic style.
Giving us a further peek inside the contents of her Stella McCartney handbag, Pamela pulls out all the beauty essentials she always keeps on hand. There's a fan for hot flushes, CBD oil for her arthritis, a 'love potion' fragrance of her own making and sour snacks, and like most of us she doesn't go without her trusty make-up arsenal, too.
Pamela relies on Ilia's True Skin Serum Concealer, £29, Ilia's Daylite Highlighting Powder, £33, and Kindred Black's Night Venom lip and cheek stain (which is sadly only available outside the UK) for her quick daily touch-ups. And her choices make total sense: both brands are a big solution for those who prefer to shop the clean, vegan beautyaisles thanks to their firm approach to 'slow beauty', that being, creating and distributing products that are kind-to-skin as well as the planet – something Pamela has been passionate about for years.
Something else she relies on? Sunscreen. In the video Pamela calls out her SPF, saying 'Suncreen, I should have used more sunscreen when I was little. I counted my freckles the other day. I have 137 just on my nose, should've worn this.'
If that's not a warning to start packing on that SPF, we don't know what it.
