It might have been over ten years since one of the greatest teen movies ever made (in our humble opinion) was released, but we still get a little frisson of excitement every time #MeanGirls starts trending on Twitter. But what does it mean this time? It's not even October 3rd!
And I’m happy to report that this time around it is because Storybook Cosmetics is officially releasing a Mean Girls inspired eyeshadow palette this Autumn!
This isn't the first time Storybook has mentioned a potential Mean Girls collab. Seven months ago on the Storybook Cosmetics Instagram page, they posted a teaser for a potential makeup collaboration and the Internet was very pleased indeed. And having heard nothing since, the company then posted a surprise Instagram a few days ago announcing that they will officially be releasing the palette later on in the year after reaching an agreement with Paramount and securing the licensing rights to create the product.
Storybook Cosmetics has become a bit of a cult brand known for releasing move and book-inspired makeup collections and previously went viral after the release of their sell-out Harry Potter inspired makeup ‘wands’/brushes last year.
Whilst the Mean Girls palette is still in the early stages of development, and we don’t know much yet, based on the Storybook Cosmetics previous products we can assume that the palette will be as tongue-in-cheek and fun as the movie that it is inspired by!
