We’ve seen a LOT of hair colouring trends being born on Instagram lately, first there was silver ombre hair, then blush pink balayage gave us ALL the spring feels, but now the new most popular colour trend on the ‘gram is officially rose brown hair.
The rose brown hair trend draws inspiration from the rose gold hair trend, using pink and caramel tones to highlight with the darer chocolatey brown colours of natural brunette hair. It’s applied with the same technique as balayage, leaving a warm brown in the roots and leaving the metallic-pink-look highlights towards the ends – which looks even better finished with beachy waves to emphasise the shimmering shades.
Celebs who have been embracing the rose hair trend include Kim Kardashian, Saoirse Ronan and Hayley Baldwin, but without having blonde hair to start with (or bleached like Kim’s) there was no way for brunette gals to try the trend, until now!
While the style is still pretty new, it’s clocking up quite the number of hashtags on Instagram, with nearly 3,000 people using #rosebrown for their newly snapped do’s. So, finally brunettes can get on the pastel hair trend train with minimal bleaching.
