Is This The Return Of The Bush?

It seems like it may well be...

Conversation around The Bush is nothing particularly new. From American Apparel to fashion photographers and even the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow and Cameron Diaz (who titled a whole chapter of her Body Book, In Praise Of Pubes), it seems there’s an intersection of society that has long been trying to bring back the bush.

Whether it’s quite as sexy as what Justin Timberlake’s brought back is, it appears, to be in the eye of the beholder. Nonetheless, according to explicit film director Erika Lust, it’s catching and it may well be back.

From the Full Bush Brazilian, which reportedly caught on in New York salons to South Korean women getting bush transplants – yes, really – it seems pubic hair is well and truly a thing, and no longer solely something to be removed.

‘So I noticed from the #xconfession confessors that more and more people are emphasizing their love for a good fluffy bush,’ Erika tweeted yesterday.

‘Is the world finally ready for female body’s nature?’ she added, culminating with #bringbackthebush.

A quick scroll through the hashtag finds an array of opinions ranging from the panicked: ‘Just don’t PLZ’ complete with horrified emoji, to ‘Don’t succumb to the media’s standard of beauty by waxing your snatch. Grow it out. Wear a comb in it. Parade it around at parties.’ Lols.

We think perhaps wearing a comb in it may be taking the sentiment a liiiiittle too far, but arguably there are many benefits to having a great big bush, including that waxing is fucking painful (obvi), and that they keep you warm in winter.

Both valid points, the latter proving particularly tempting right now. But ultimately, while it may not be quite how I like to roll, people can do whatever the fuck they want to do with their pubes, really.
