Quick dry nail varnish is a godsend for people who like the look of nail varnish but don't have the time or patience to swan around their penthouse, wafting their nails all over the place. Mainly because we don't have penthouses and, if we did, we'd get nail varnish all over them.
Here are the current fast-drying varnishes on the high street, put to the ultimate test: after the prescribed time (60 seconds on my Motorola - I will defend my phone choice to the death), will the nail varnish stay strong or wipe off on this comedy rubber mouse? May the best varnish win. And, for anyone interested, the mouse is called Barbara and was thrown at me on April Fool's Day.
Price: £2.99
Did it work? Gimme Some Of That? More like Gimme Something Wetter Cos It's Just So Dry! Okay, that made little to no sense but what I'm trying to say is - this is a great, pigmented nail varnish that dries very, very quickly.
Amount of residue left on the comedy rubber mouse: Zero
**Price: **£4.90
Did it work? Went on a bit clumpily, which meant that it didn't quite pass the test. If this was a 120 second test, then it would have soared - but instead, it would have been all over my trousers/hair/makeup bag. Thank god I used a comedy rubber mouse.
Amount of residue left on the comedy rubber mouse: Quite a bit
**Price: **£3.99
Did it work? The first layer is a little bit thin, so you're going to have to double this bad boy up - but it dried perfectly. Well done Barry.
Amount of residue left on the comedy rubber mouse: Zero

Did it work? Good lord yes. In just 30 seconds, this was as dry as my wit - and orange is apparently really in at the moment, according to people who know more about fashion and colours than I do.
Amount of residue left on the comedy rubber mouse: None! Zilch.
**Summary: **Kiko aside, these four varnishes are excellent for people who want to paint their nails and immediately be able to do some sort of braid. Avon is superhuman.
