It looks seriously good, too.

What if I told you can create a whole make-up look using just one lipstick (pretty much)? That's right, make-up artist Lucy Pearson has proven that lipstick isn't just for your lips. Plus, the fact that it's Spring and all means that it's the perfect time to rock pink make-up, without looking like you've got pinkeye or crappy hayfever, because no one wants that. Here's how to create a look that's perfect for the impromptu after-work BBQ your mate just invited you to (or impromptu after-work drinking in the park, depending on how organised your mates are).

Before you start, you'll need these:

  • Bright coral/pink lipstick

  • Brown eyeliner

  • Gold eyeshadow/pigment

I'm going with the assumption that you're already wearing a base and mascara, so just touch it up wherever you think you need it, like that spot that decided to appear about hour ago (cheers for that, face). You'll also want to lightly apply some brown eyeliner on the upper and lower lashes of the outer corner of your eye, for soft definition. Lucy used M.A.C's Eye Kohl in Teddy, £14, for this. Now for the rest...

Step One

Start with your cheeks. Lipstick as a blusher? Not too scary as it's pretty much the same as using a cream blush. Dab a little of the lipstick to the apples of your cheeks, we used Maybelline's Color Sensational Vivids Lipstick in Shocking Coral, £6.99, then pat it in with your finger to blend the colour out. Go lightly when you're applying it though, as it's super pigmented and a little goes a long way.

Step Two

Next, it's the lips. Press the colour on to keep the application soft - we're not trying to create a statment lip here, just a subtle wash of colour. 'You could even mix it with a balm or gloss to keep it sheer', Lucy says.

Step Three

Try not to panic, but it's time to put the lipstick on your eyes. Yep, seriously. Apply the lipstick in a sideways 'V' on the outer corner of your eye (this is where you'd put the dark eyeshadow if you were doing a smoky eye) and blend it softy with a shadow brush like the Zoeva 225 Eye Blender Brush, £6.95. This won't need too much blending because of the creamy formula. Lucy recommends setting it with a invisible powder if you can, something like the Autograph Invisible Finish Loose Powder, £12: 'it'll help the eye look to last much longer'.

Step Four

To finish off, dab a gold pigment or eyeshadow onto inner part of the eye because gold and pink make a dreamy match and your eyes will look like tropical flowers - who doesn't want that? Barry M's Dazzle Dust in Venus, £4.59, is perfect for this.
