Let’s talk summer hair. And nope, I’m not talking about the effortlessly tousled, sun-bleached surfer strands that I’d so love to emulate. Oh no. Instead, I refer to the halo of baby hairs that go "poof" before I can even utter the word humidity. But what, if anything, can I do about them? I’ve tried and tested a myriad of products that claim to tame frizz, none of which have wowed me. But it’s fair to say that I was swayed by the abundance of Tiktokers waxing lyrical about one particular new launch. ‘This has genuinely changed my attitude towards my hair,’ wrote one, while another typed, ‘My hair feels out of control in the humidity but this spray remedied that overnight. I now don’t have to worry about the dreaded frizz the minute I leave the house.’ Consider me intrigued. Enter the Moroccanoil Frizz Shield Spray, £25.85
What does the Moroccanoil Frizz Shield Spray do?
Formulated as ‘a heat-activated styling mist’ Morocconoil say its formula has been designed to ‘encourage long-lasting smoothness’ thanks to the well-known nourishing properties of argan oil. Expect protection against unwanted flyaways and static caused by humidity as well as smoother, softer, silkier strands.
How to use Moroccanoil Frizz Shield Spray
The application process is satisfyingly simple. Simply spritz the spray through clean, damp hair before combing through to evenly distribute. As it's heat activated, it's important to follow with a hairdryer. For best results, the brand recommend blow-drying in sections and following with a straightener.

Our Verdict
Rachael Martin, beauty editor:
‘My hair is very, very frizz-prone. Call me dramatic, but those pesky, wiry strands that stick up on the top of my head are the bane of my life, and I've spent considerable time trying to flatten them in a (futile) bid to make them appear more silky. I was, as ever, dubious when I first tested this product. Often, when something has gone viral online it doesn't live up to the hype. This one was different, however. It applies easily (the nozzle allows for a light misting as opposed to a heavy spurt of the stuff) and a small amount tends to go a long way. I have naturally greasy hair, so ensuring the formula felt undetectable on my freshly washed hair was a must for me too. After blowdrying and tonging I was immediately impressed by the results. Although there were still some flyaways peeping through (they are still shorter pieces of hair, after all) the texture of my strands felt considerably more silky and manageable. This softness lasted all day too - through a sweaty commute and a light sun-shower. It's a quick fix, and a good one at that.'
Final thoughts:
While those with excess frizz won't see their flyways completely disappear, they are likely to see a marked improvement in the texture of their hair. It's safe to say that this one has gone viral for good reason - would recommend.
