Oh, Miley. Where do we start? From your not-so-humble beginnings as the daughter of an American music legend to your stellar (albeit short-lived) career as a Disney tween star to present day, where you're more often than not found licking lots of things, wearing flesh coloured thongs on stage and generally waving your bottom around. Some call you a new breed of feminist heroine. Others call you out of control. What do we say? Well, we like that you take beauty risks.
Growing up in the public eye is hard - especially when you have a third parent in the form of the Disney Channel. Not allowed to have a drastic haircut or play around with makeup, Miley's image was kept squeaky clean until she emancipated herself and became the cropped, (sometimes head-shaven) platinum blonde starlet we all know today. It should come as no surprise that Miley really wanted to switch it up when she could – imagine having your whole look dictated by people around you. Even Emma Watson went for a pixie crop after hanging up her Hermione robes for the last time.
We've decided to take a stroll down memory lane and chart Miley's hairvolution from country-girl long locks to her current directional 'do, all in the name of nostalgia. We forget just how many different cuts Miley's had over the years - she's worked super-long hair, as well as a lob before a lob was even a thing. Now flying the flag for short-haired girls everywhere, Miley certainly knows how to cause a stir, on the red carpet and off.
