What is it about this time of year that inspires change? Rising temperatures and the backdrop of a sun soaked city has a way of making us want to switch up our hair with a cut or colour refresh. New season, new hair, or so the saying goes... and we are not alone. Michelle Keegan has just unveiled a new hair hue and it's the perfect nod to summer.

Debuting the look on Instagram, Keegan's go-to hairstylistCalum Tierney posted a first look at the Fool Me Once actress' new style, dubbing it Bambi Brown. 'Michelle’s new look for summer! Using my signature Bambi Brown technique, we’ve lightened and added depth giving her that perfect sun-kissed glow,' he says.

Keegan's trademark brunette was swapped in favour of soft brown espresso tones with seamlessly blended subtle honey bronde highlights for a fresh update. Hair painting aside, Tierney also notes that the star's covetable look was finished with the help of Beauty Works extensions which 'add the perfect touch of length and volume'. Using the brand's 20 inch offerings, Tierney reached for the shades Toffee Crunch, from £166.99– a new addition to its hair portfolio as part of the Beauty Works X Maya Jama collection – and Dubai, from £146.70.

A signature look in his styling repertoire, Tierney has previously created his 'Bambi brown' colouring technique on some of his other famous clients, including Chloe Lewis, who he saw in April. But what is it exactly?Tierney's Bambi brown or Bambi bronde is 'inspired by the Disney character Bambi and the combination of bronde, which refers to the hybrid of honey blonde and brunette tones. It is perfect for summer because they offer a natural, sun-kissed look that complements tanned skin. These shades are low-maintenance, blend well with natural hair, and provide a healthy and expensive finish.'

The look sees him undertake root shadowing, contouring, toning and tip outs, meaning colouring the mid-lengths to the ends of hair. Key to finishing the look though? Beauty Works extensions.

We're not surprised, Beauty Works' offerings are popular for good reason. With a range of lengths, including 18, 20, 22 and 26 inch, they are available in a host of fluid, natural-looking colourways that are primed to suit all. From ultra-light, uber-comfortable clip-in weft bands that boast a bump-free finish to professional tape-ins available in-salon only, the variety of 100% soft, silky Remy human hair promise to cater to every need.

While we don't know the exact type of extensions Tierney used on Keegan, we do know the actress' current look is blended with lengths from this Beauty Works' collaboration with Maya Jama. If you're new to extensions and want to enjoy the promise of natural-looking length and volume without the commitment, this easy clip-in set is the perfect place to start.
