We can't stop talking about Michaela Coel's BAFTAs bob. After all the Zoom-based award ceremonies we've been accustomed to lately, the 2021 BAFTA TV Awards - IRL! - were an exciting change for all involved and an opportunity to see the stars' red carpet looks in all their glory. Needless to say that the A-listers involved did not disappoint.

When it came to hairstyles at the BAFTAs yes, the red carpet ready up dos were out in full force - the award for best guest appearance at the BAFTAs goes to Billie Piper's scrunchie!, but it was the short crops and cuts debuted on the night that really caught our attention, most notably Michaela Coel's slicked back, blunt cut bob.

Since Michaela's rise to international fame in recent years she has showcased her versatility in the fashion and beauty sphere and is never afraid to switch up her style. From the French plaits we saw her rock as Tracey in E4's Chewing Gum, to her own Bantu knots, twists, and, her signature short hair - Michaela shaved her head due to the lack of representation of dark-skinned women with short hair as romantic leads the actress told BET in 2018.

It might have been Michaela's empowering decision to shave her head that led to some of Michaela's most iconic wig looks. Who could forget the pink ombre bob that became synonymous with the critically acclaimed TV show I May Destroy You , and now the sleek and sophisticated blunt BAFTAs bob cut created by Hair Stylist Christelle Siewe who indicated on Instagram that she worked with a lace front wig when styling the look.
