When it comes to mornings, here at The Debrief we’d rather spend our allocated getting-ready minutes eating Marmite on toast and checking our Instagram 'likes', as opposed to addressing the inevitable hot-mess situation located on our heads. To help like-minded lazy girls trick the general public into thinking they've made an effort, we’ve enlisted the advice of super babe Zoe London. The beauty, fashion and lifestyle blogger has taught us how to achieve some of her favourite high-impact, low-effort hairstyles in the situations you need them most.

First up: the fail-safe solution to when your hair gets caught in the rain on the way to work/the pub/meeting friends.

Step One: Start by separating your hair down the middle. Roughly apply some Bumble and Bumble Cityswept Finish sprayto the ends of your now droopy locks – this will help you achieve textured, voluminous plaits. Take two small sections of hair near the top of your forehead and pin to one side. You’ll go back to them later.

Step Two: Start plaiting a braid either side of your head. Make sure you start them low and just behind your ear – try not to plait too tight, as you want them to unravel slightly throughout the day. This is a look that gets better the longer you wear it. Remove the pins from the sections you separated before.

Step Three: Take your plaits up and over your head, pinning them into place carefully to ensure the ends are tucked in. Disguise the bobby pins by sliding them underneath your plaits.

Step Four: Take the small front sections one at a time and spray with some more Cityswept Finish spray. Hold them above your head and twist. Pull to the other side, pin each one in front of your plait halo and finish with some hairspray – Zoe recommends Fudge Urban Iced Raberry & Vanilla spray. You’re now a hair genius. When your colleagues ask how you managed to achieve such artistry, simply shrug and tell them, “It just takes practice.”

Who needs an umbrella? (OK, you still do – but you know what we mean.)
