Of course, this weekend was about the awards at the Grammys, but we got so sidetracked by all the dazzling beauty looks at the ceremony, we decided to give out a few gongs of our own. Namely, best new chop, best new hair color and best use of a wig as a means of hiding your face (a one-horse race won by Sia).
The best new chop award goes to none other than Kim Kardashian, who debuted (on the red carpet after an Instagram annoucement, natch) a new long bob. In a week where Kim's been grabbing the headlines by exposing more and more photos (and flesh) from her upcoming LOVE Magazine editorial, maybe the most surprising thing she could do was go for a really low-key new look. Her new style is tousled, teased and utterly effortless - stylist Michael Silva said the swept-over fringe was a nod to Kate Moss's rockabilly vibe. We can't wait to see how else Kim wears her new length.
As for colour, we have to hand it to Katy Perry. After working probably every shade under the sun at some point in her career, Katy stepped out with a Parma Violet purple tone to her locks that actually really suits her. It perfectly picks out the green in her eyes and is a more subtle way to wear unnatural colours than a full-on neon. The ombre effect through the ends is particularly chic, as it softens the look and adds little fashion-forward nod.
While these two are our hair heroes this week, they're not our only beauty crushes. Click through the gallery to see who else we're wanting to copy...
