Kate’s Hairdresser Richard Ward Reveals The Secrets Behind Her Famous Tresses

Forever bouncy and smoother than spun silk, Kate Middleton’s glossy brunette tresses are the envy of women the world over. And it’s UK hairdresser Richard Ward who is behind the Duchess of Cambridge’s envious and faultless blow-dries and has been styling her iconic head of hair for years- even before she met Prince William.

And as well as preening other A-list manes including Kim Catrall, Elizabeth Hurley and Poppy Delevingne, Ward recently revealed that he is also responsible for the hair of… Bear Grylls. 1. Doing Kate’s hair at the Royal Wedding was the highlight of his career

2. He practiced Kate’s bridal hair 10 or 15 times on his assistant Sam… using a £10 tiara

3. He has been styling all of the Middletons in his salon for over 8 years…

**4. But didn’t recognise Kate until she started appearing in the media: **“I certainly made sure I knew who she was after that!”

6. He says anyone can have Kate’s hair: “What I'm known for is this beautiful, glossy, frizz-free gorgeous glamorous expensive hair - that's not just Kate's hair...that is the sort of finish if you came to our salon or used our products, everyone gets."

7. He recommends investing in the right tools: “You're never gonna get that finish with a paddle brush. You need to be using a round boar bristle brush. All these spikey metal brushes, in my opinion, they just rip through the hair. The round boar bristle brush helps seal the hair cuticles.”
