Kate Bosworth has always given us some real hair envy. From her dreamy new lob to her beachy, unfussy styles, we often find ourselves poring over pictures of her Instagram feed, and saving them to show our hairdresser whenever blowdry time rolls around. But this week at Coachella, Kate and her hairstylist Bridget Brager really knocked it out of the park. Lots of people rock a braid around festival season, but only Kate manages to wear a braid down her parting and make it looks cool. When we first saw the photo, there were a handful of us on the beauty desk trying to work out how Bridget and Kate had managed it - it looks like the braid was started was essentially magicked out of nowhere, which we can totally believe as we're sure Kate is part fairy.

Bridget told Byrdie, "[Start] with second-day dry hair. Take a section of hair where you would normally have a center part. Begin making a braid, starting at the crown and working toward your forehead, finishing at your hairline. Make two equal sections with the remaining hair and secure by pushing a bobby pin up the middle of the braid as close to the scalp as possible. Take the remaining sections and smooth them down to frame the face." At the back, Kate's got a little bun to cover the tracks of where the braid started and give it an unpolished feel. Apparently, Bridget designed the look especially for Kate, which makes perfect sense as this look is Bosworth all over.

It's a great spin on the traditional halo braid, too. Instead of one thick plait crowning her head, this dainty plait is subtle and inconspicous, but still fun. Perfect to try at home if you're feeling patient and dexterous. See more Coachella looks in the gallery below.
