How old is Jeffree Star?
Jeffree was born on 15th November, 1985 which makes him 35 years old.
Where does Jeffree Star live?
He resides in the city of Calabasas in the county of Los Angeles, California. This isn’t particularly secret – he regularly uses the Calabasas geo-filter on his Snapchat (username 'JeffreeDahmer').
How did Jeffree Star become famous?
Back in the early 2000s, during the peak of MySpace, Jeffree Star reigned supreme. It’s here that he amassed a huge fan base and launched his music career. He was known for his ‘controversial’ phrases, unique appearance and – for want of a better phrase – not really giving a shit what anyone thought, as you can see from an archived version of his MySpace page. In his ‘About’ section he explains how he began going to Hollywood Clubs wearing minidresses and skyscraper heels where he would meet celebrities who appreciated his make-up skills and he began doing theirs. In his own words ‘While other kids were studying and doing homework, Jeffree was in mansions and music videos, doing make-up and making tons of money.’
Did Jeffree Star make music?
Yes, yes he did. Apparently his music had over 25 million plays. In 2009 he released his first – and only – studio album which he’d begun recording in 2007, Beauty Killer which featured Young Money and Nicki Minaj. He also collaborated with American band Hollywood Undead.
Jeffree Star Cosmetics
In 2014, Jeffree launched his own make-up range Jeffree Star Cosmetics. On his website, Jeffree explains how he’s been obsessed with make-up since he discovered it at the age of 13. During his career he has worked on make-up counters, music videos, celebrities and fashion editorials (to name a few).
Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks
Jeffree started his line with the launch of his Velour Liquid Lipstick range which currently has 31 shades ranging from a pure white (‘Drug Lord’), bright yellow (‘Queen Bee’) and pastel lilac (‘Blow Pony’). It also includes some more 'wearable' colours such as reds and pinks. The nudes in the collection ’Mannequin’ and ‘Celebrity Skin’ are so popular that they often sell out within minutes of re-stock as do many of the other shoes.
Jeffree Star Skin Frost
In May Jeffree extended his line with a collection of Skin Frost – a range of highly pigmented highlighters which comes as no surprise considering his well-documented obsession with a strong highlight. The existing colours are ‘Ice Cold’, ‘Peach Goddess’, ‘King Tut’ and ‘Mint Condition’ all of which promptly sold out too. Jeffree has confirmed the release of four new shades on 11th August: ‘So Fucking Gold’, ‘Deep Freeze’, ‘Lavender Snow’ and a final, unnamed shade. He has also promised a re-stock of ‘King Tut’ and ‘Peach Goddess’ on the same day.
When the first batch of Skin Frost was shipped out, many customers complained that they’d received broken highlighters. Jeffree later addresses these claims via his Twitter account, claiming that UPSP (a mailing company) sometimes treat the boxes ‘like shit’ and promised a full refund or replacement the next day if they had received a damaged product.
Jeffree Star Beauty Killer Palette
Another addition to his range in May was his Beauty Killer eyeshadow palette which contains 10 eyeshadows in a range of matte, frost and glitter finishes. Unsurprisingly, this is currently sold out.
Does Jeffree Star Cosmetics ship to the UK?
The website states that they offer international shipping for $10.95 (£8.33) but this could also incur further custom fees so do your research before you order. There are UK websites which sell a selection of his make-up such as Beauty Bay, which is the official authorised reseller approved by Jeffree Cosmetics for the UK. Here’s hoping he officially launches in the UK soon.
Does Jeffree Star Cosmetics test on animals?
No. On his website he states that his whole line is cruelty free because ‘make-up is for humans, not animals.’
Are Jeffree Star Cosmetics vegan?
His Velour Liquid Lipsticks are.
How to do Jeffree Star make-up
If you fancy recreating any of his meticulous make-up looks, he has a YouTube channel where he regularly does make-up tutorials. The videos are pretty mesmerising.
Jeffree Star’s tattoos
Jeffree has a lot of tattoos. Jeffree Star's tattoos cover several parts of his body. Jeffree even has ‘Vanity’ tattooed above his right eyebrow. The most obvious of Jeffree Star's tattoos include portraits of Elvis Presley, Kurt Cobain, Audrey Hepburn and his Grandmother, which was done by tattoo artist and former friend (we’ll get to that later) Kat Von D as was his portrait of JonBenet Ramsey. Other notable Jeffree Star tattoos include portraits of Edward Scissorhands, Wednesday Addams and Princess Diana. He also has 'cats meow' tattooed across his knuckles and 'c__t' (without the asterix) on his ankle.
Jeffree Star and Nathan Schwandt
Nathan Schwandt is Jeffree's boyfriend. They’ve been dating since early 2015 when Nathan reached out to Jeffree on Instagram. Nathan is from Michigan and is 26 years old. He is part of Jeffree Star Cosmetics and works in the warehouse of the brand.
Jeffree Star and Kat Von D
Jeffree and Kat have been friends for around 10 years. On 19th July, 2016, Kat Von D shared a tweet in which her main focus is an artist called BJ Betts who she claims Jeffree stole ideas from.
Jeffree Star responded with his own YouTube video called 'Kat Von D: It's easier to tell the truth.' in which he addresses all of Kat’s claims.
