Now that summer has come to it's premature end, the fact that you spent a large portion of the last few months partying at festivals and on roof top bars has really started to show. Because you may have made summer 2015 the best yet, but you and sleep had a sporadic summer fling, at best. Which is why you're here, right? Well, you're in the right place, because we've enlisted the help of Boots and make-up artist Lucy Pearson, to bring you the ultimate gif guide to hiding your dark under-eyes, so no one will ever know you've been surviving on snatched hours of sleep for the past three months. In fact, once you're done, you'll look positively well-rested and radiant. Here's how to do it and the products you need - all available at Boots.

Step 1

Start by giving yourself a fluid draining massage using a moisturiser like the Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating Moisturiser, £4.19 for 125ml, Boots.com. Working in opposite motions circling the eyes will help to drain the fluid away from your under-eye, and reduce the bag-like appearance that's the bane of all our lives.

Step 2

A cooling eye gel applied around the eye could help get rid of any further puffiness. The Botanics All Bright Refreshing Eye Roll-On, £8.99 for 15ml, Boots.com, is great because it has a cooling roller bullet to give some full-on soothing action. Apply it under the eye and on to the brow bone before patting it into the skin and letting it sink in before moving on to the next step.

Step 3

Now for the colour correcting! You'll want to use a peach-toned corrector for this part because it could help neutralise the gross 'blue' tone that you get under the eyes when you're tired. The Seventeen Phwoarr Paint, £5.49 for 12g, Boots.com, is perfect for this – apply it using a brush like the EcoTools Eye Shading Brush which is part of their Bamboo 6 Piece Brush Set, £15.99, Boots.com. This will help properly disperse and blend the product. Lucy recommends going light-handed with the concealer at first; 'There are a few steps so build slowly and gently blend.' Otherwise you run the risk of rocking the reverse panda-eye look.

Step 4

Next apply a 'skin' toned concealer over the top of the peach corrector – this will blur it and make it look more natural to your skin tone. Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, £4.19, Boots.com, is perfect for this and the layering the two tones of concealer could help reduce the appearance of the the darkness/blue colour. 'If your skin is on the oily side it's worth setting the concealer with a light powder to avoid creasing,' Lucy suggests.

Step 5

Highlighting is key because it opens up the eye and takes away from the fact that you're currently dealing with sleep deprivation. Use a highlighting powder like the Bourjois Little Round Pot Eyeshadow in Beige Rose, £6.99, Boots.com, and use the applicator to place it in the inner corners of the eye and on the brow bone. Finally, big lashes on the top and bottom of the eye will open them right-up, 60's style, making you look bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. We used the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara, £19.50, Boots.com, because if gives lashes amazing lift and length.
