Aussie SOS Repair Treatment Shot, £3.99We have a collective weakness for Aussie products (the efficacy, the nourishment, the nostalgia!) and this new treatment has really hit the spot. Used weekly, or whenever your hair needs some TLC (so probably daily right now), it softens up strands no end and smells comforting, too.

Herbal Essences bio Sulphate Free Potent Aloe + Hemp Repair & Smooth Conditioner, £5.99We were unitedly impressed by this softening, sulphate-free formula, which worked wonders on both thick and fine hair types, providing a nourishing hit of hydration without feeling weighty. Environmentally conscious credentials confirm its spot as a worthy winner. And at £6, it's a lot of bang for your buck.

L'Oréal Professionnel TECNI.ART 6-Fix, £16.10If other hairsprays you've tried just aren't up to the job, try this mighty fixer, pronto. Touted as the brand's 'strongest fixing spray' yet, it delivers impressive hold, but – and this is the crucial part – without being crunchy.

Dyson Corrale Straightener, £399List everything you'd change about the first straightening iron you ever used. This is where Dyson engineers started, looking to trouble-shoot all our heated tool issues, delivering a smart styling solution that's kinder to hair (with research showing 50% less damage) and – drumroll please – cordless. Looks pretty sleek too, no?

Hairstory New Wash Original: Sulphate-Free Shampoo Alternative, £44Pro make-up artist Zoe Taylor put us on to this game-changer for healthier, thicker hair. Technically a co-wash, you skip shampooing and use only this conditioning formula, from root to tip, massaging it into your scalp. By ditching shampoo detergent, you avoid stripping your scalp, and healthier hair follows. It takes a week or two to adjust – and your hair might feel greasy during the transition – but, trust us, it's worth it.

Color Wow Dream Filter, £25This is clever stuff. A spray on, rinse out, pre-shampoo product that boosts colour vibrancy by removing metals and minerals (like copper, calcium and magnesium) that can build up on your hair, dulling and darkening your shade. Simply spray all over, wait a few minutes, and follow with your regular shampoo for a speedy colour boost.

Drunk Elephant Hair Range, from £21 to £30Well isn't this exciting! US 'skintellectual' import Drunk Elephant has branched out into haircare, and it's ticking our boxes. Creator Tiffany Masterson got celebrity hairstylist Chris McMillan (the legend behind Jennifer A's iconic 'Rachel' 'do) on-board and the results are as mega as you'd expect, with a four-piece range that takes a 'healthy scalp = healthy hair' approach. Oh, and three of the products are scented with almond oil (yum).

Kérastase Genesis Bain Hydra-Fortifiant, £23.90Two-thirds of the Grazia beauty team are on a perma- mission to find products that truly deliver thicker hair. This is such a find. The formula that takes over-bleached, stressed- out strands and makes them look instantly healthier, while long-term it reduces everyday hair fallout. Follow with the conditioner or mask and it's mission accomplished.

Larry King Hair Care Liquid Hairbrush Conditioner, £42This product has blown us away. It's softer, sleeker, more manageable hair, bottled.

Drunk Elephant Wild Marula Tangle Spray, £21More than a detangling spray, this leave-in spritz helps subtly define and heartily condition curls and coils thanks to its hero ingredient – marula oil. Depending on your texture, use it on damp or dry hair to add moisture and shine. Big tick.

TRESemmé Day 2 Fresh & Clean Foaming Dry Shampoo, £4.99An innovative dry shampoo foam, this delivers and then some. Simply massage through roots and either a) leave it to dry naturally, or b) blast it in with a hairdryer, if you're in a rush. Either way, it gives second or third-day hair a new lease of life, with a fresh scent and leaving zero white marks in its wake.
