A Year Inside The A-List’s Favourite Hairdressers

George Northwood's salon (aka the only place to get your mane tamed right now) turned one year old last week and shows no signs of a sophomore slump. Every It girl worth their salt has made an appearance at the Fitzrovia salon, including Poppy Delevingne, Lilly James, and of course, the queen bee, Alexa Chung.

It's a veritable haven for models and industry darlings alike to mingle while getting their tresses seen to, but it's also open to mere mortals. Despite the premier service, the salon maintains an utterly unpretentious vibe. They even give you shortbread with your tea that George's mum makes. No, really. George and his team may offer the Rolls Royce of hair services, but they certainly make you feel like you actually belong in that Rolls Royce.

It's been a stellar year for George - when the A List aren't plonked in one of the super-comfy chairs at the salon, it's because George has come to them to work his magic before they hit the red carpet. Charlotte Riley, Pixie Geldof and Reese Witherspoon have all been graced with his Midas touch this year - we reckon half of Hollywood have him on speed dial. Star fans aside, George seriously wowed the industry and was tapped by Redken and Pureology to be their ambassador and the salon is their flagship, making his bricks-and-morter HQ a colour and cut authority. If you can't book in with George, any member of his team will see you right - Sally's a whiz at colour and a Northwood too, while Roi is George's right-hand man and gives a seriously good cut.

Friends with Rosie Huntington Whiteley since she started out as a model, George gave Rosie her much-copied long bob at the beginning of 2015, and Rosie's not his only model pal. There's probably more selfies with Alexa Chung on her Instagram than you've had hot dinners.
