Model Emma Louise Connolly took to Instagram recently to extol the virtues of a brand new overnight hair serum that she hails as 'the ultimate lazy hair hack.' It's a new release from Ayurvedic haircare brand Aveda that promises to nourish and strengthen hair at three levels, all while you sleep. An absolute tonic for someone, like Emma, who is expecting her first child with husband and ex-Made In Chelseastar Oliver Proudlock. Moments of self-care are a must.

Meet the Aveda Botanical Repair Strengthening Overnight Serum, £40. Though it's made with multiple oils - think avocado oil, camellia seed oil and castor oil - the formula is featherlight and absorbs quickly into you hair, meaning you needn't worry about leaving any residue on your pillows. There's no need to wash it out of your hair when you wake up either.

It effectively wraps your hair in a layer of protection that cuts down on friction while you sleep and reduces breakage when used regularly. It lessens the appearance of split ends too - never a bad thing.

Writing on Instagram, Emma said 'nourished, stronger, revived hair and all you have to do is SLEEP. Sign me up.' Though Emma flagged her post as an 'ad', her enthusiasm for the product is plain to see. It certainly takes the guess-work out of haircare during pregnancy.
