Ok so this Reddit thread has gone wild in the USA for drugstore dupes that girls like better than a high-end product. To help you out we’ve found the UK prices for the most popular dupes mentioned. These may just sway you in a different direction when looking at the prettier packaging of the more expensive make up.
1. NYX Pore Filler (£11.00 Boots)
glowkitz started it off with, ‘For me, there's definitely dupes I like better than the original! For example, I love the NYX Pore Filler way better than Benefit Porefessional (£22.00),’
2. NYX Matte Black (£5.50 Boots)
‘Also, my favourite liquid liner of all time is NYX Matte Black. I'm curious if anyone else feels this way about certain products’, said glowkitz.
3. NYX Liquid Suede In Soft Spoken (£6.50 Boots)
sparkles69 said, ‘Nyx liquid suede in soft spoken looks like how I wanted Lolita to look on me. Lolita pulls terra-cotta/brown (£17.00) on me for some reason but soft spoken is a perfect mauvey nude.’
4. Max Factor 2000 Calorie (£6.99 Boots)
ultrakawaii mentioned, ‘I found Max Factor 2000 Calorie (the curved brush version) gave very similar results.’
5. NYX Microbrow Pencil (£7.00 Boots)
Seafffoam says, ‘NYX Microbrow pencil vs. ABH Brow Wiz (£15.50). NYX feels/looks the same.’
6. Maybelline Lash Sensational (£7.99 Superdrug)
Telanderb said, ‘I love Maybelline Lash Sensational over Benefit Roller Lash’ (£20.50)
And this just blew our minds,
7. Essence Make Me Brow (£2.99 Wilko)
Meg0neurotHe11 said, ‘Essence Make Me Brow (£2.99 Wilko) is my HG and so cheap vs it's more expensive counterpart, Benefit's Gimme Brow (£20.00).’
*HG: Holy Grail – yeah we didn’t know either.
That is insanely cheap and perfect for our bank balances. There are even a few tips on how to get around a product if it’s not how your old expensive one was.
Right I’m off to buy the NYX microbrow pencil, stat.
