Er, it's 8pm, you've just finished work, and you were supposed to be at your mate's party about 20 minutes ago. She's already called you twice asking where the hell you are, so you definitely don't have time to run home and change. You need a quick party overhaul - that you can do from your desk.
Well, here it is; An awesome blue party eye, that requires two items of makeup, takes literally takes seconds to do, but will impress all night long (these cream eyeshadows seriously don't budge).
We know when you first think of blue eyeshadow the first thing that springs to mind is Pat Butcher. But trust us, this AW14 party season the blue eye screams cool, hawt thang (just Google Poppy Delevingne if you dont believe us).
Here’s what you’ll need before you start:
-
Square Flat Eye Brush
-
Turquoise Cream Eyeshadow
-
Silver Cream Eyeshadow
-
Cotton Buds

And here’s how to create the look:
Step One
Using a square flat brush, something like the Wet/Dry Shadow Brush by bareMinerals, £13, apply the turquoise cream eyeshadow. Cream eyeshadow is great because there's no smudging like with powders. We used Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr in Turqoise Forever, £4.99 because it’s super pigmented and long lasting. Start applying it onto the last three quarters of your eyelid, leaving the inner quarter bare, ready for the silver. You want to apply it in a chunky, wing shape. Think black winged liner, but pumped bigger on blue steroids. Tip: Getting this right is all about the brush– a dense, flat square brush will make achieving this look so much easier.

Step Two
Tidy up the shape using a cotton bud dipped in make up remover, something like All Bright Micellar 3 in 1 Cleansing Solution by Botanics, £2.99 (but failing that a bit of water). Use the cotton bud to help shape the wing. Tip two: Do this part with your eyes open because your eye changes shape when you close it.

** Step Three**
Now take your silver cream eyeshadow, we used Bourjois Color Edition 24h Eyeshadow in Beige Constellation, £6.99, and apply it to the inner quarter of the eye, blending it very slightly into the turqoise. Then finish the look off by taking the silver right into the tear duct – you can do this using a small bullet brush, something like the Smokey Eye Brush by No7, £7.25, or a cotton bud.

Tip three: If you have a warmer skin tone, you could try replacing the silver with gold (Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr in Eternal Gold, £4.99) and the turqoise with purple (Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hrhr in Endless Purple, £4.99). These two pairings are colour soulmates.
Make sure you keep the rest of your look paired back; no statement lips here, please. Just a few coats of mascara on the top lashes and a minimalistic complexion will keep this modern and fresh. And that's it, you're ready to jump in your waiting Uber and get to your mate's party before all the drinks run dry.
