Cheryl Fernandez Versini is the latest star to jump on the short hair bandwagon! Debuting her new chop on Instagram (obvs), Cheryl's cut is shorter than those of her peers (like Tyalor Swift and Karlie Kloss) but still has a very trend-led edge, thanks to it's new hue and blunt finish. The man responsible for her chop was none other than Paul Percival, of Percy & Reed fame, who also took her back to a more cherry-red tone. (L'Oreal's Casting Creme Gloss Berry Red 565, to be exact.)
Now, this sparked a bit of a discussion in Grazia Daily offices about our favourite-ever Cheryl hairstyles. She's famed for her lovely locks, and was the name every twentysomething woman gave their hairdresser when asked what they wanted for most of the noughties. We mainly recalled her deep red and brunette shades, but a quick trip down memory lane reminded us that she's actually worked quite a few looks.
Blonde? Yep. Bobs? Yes. Cornrows? Er, also yes. You name it, she's tried it, whether it's poker straight or bouncing curls, our girrl Cheryl has had a pop. In celebration of her bravery throughout the years, and her new style, allow us to present Cheryl's hairvolution in the gallery below...
Cheryl Cole Hairvolution

Oh Chezza. Working conrows and a high pony in '02 - hey, it was the noughties.
2003
Flicks and some very honeyed highlights with cascading curls.
2004
A quiff and some slicked-back sides, plus poker straight lengths. A Cheryl classic.
2004
Cheryl's first try at shorter lengths, with a sleek bob. Not sure about the hat, though.
2005
Wet look, beachy waves and some choppy layers.
2005
Ah, the almost-fringe. The Zooey Deschanel bangs of the 00s.
2006
A first dalliance with extensions and volume at the crown.
2008
We were so happy when Cheryl went back to the dark side - brunette suits her so well.
2009
Working half-up, half-down hair way before Ariana Grande.
2010
Back to a shorter length with this teased 'do.
2011
I mean, the hair's probably the last thing we remember about this look, but it was there. And oh, it was big.
2012
An elegant, braided bun for a summery look.
2013
We love this intricate, but loose, braid-inside-a-braid.
2014
Back to blonde again with some big, defined curls.
cheryl-bob
Cheryl can pull off any length, but we especially like this face-framing bob. Super cute and super glossy, this is a really chic look for Ms Fernandez Versini
cheryl-cole-beauty
Cheryl looks every inch the Grecian goddess with this golden look. Sleek, long blonde lengths and plenty of polished shine is a winning combo.
cheryl-cole-blonde
Cheryl's hair looks so thick and lush here, and we love the soft ombre effect. Total #HairGoals.
cheryl-cole-blonde-hair
Working a deep side part and lighter locks, this a great summery look from Cheryl. Who knew she'd make such a fabulous blonde?
cheryl-cole-bob
This is an unusually undone look from Cheryl. Instead of her usual hyper-polished vibe, Cheryl went soft, beachy waves. We kind of love it.
cheryl-cole-brunette
There's definitely a 60s vibe going on here. Some height at the crown and some define curls make for a screen-siren look.
cheryl-cole-bun
That is one power bun. We love the super-sleek twist Cheryl's put on a classic style with her swept-back 'do.
cheryl-cole-glossy-hair
Working a centre part, Cheryl shows us there's no style she can't pull off. Top marks for the slightly auburn tone, too.
cheryl-cole-hair
Adding some serious drama with this evening look, Cheryl is working this updo. It has the added bonus of making her cheekbones look incredible, too.
cheryl-cole-hair-up
A piecey, casual updo looks cute on Cheryl. We like those unfussy strands falling free and the undone vibe.
cheryl-cole-long-hair
Cheryl makes an excellent blonde bombshell. Her tumbling locks are the perfect shade of honey blonde for her skin - we're into it.
cheryl-cole-ponytail
This is a great party look. A super-high ponytail with big, loose curls running through makes for serious cheerleader chic.
cheryl-cole-red-carpet
Warm blonde, mid-length locks are simple but effective. Cheryl looks very sophisticated, no?
cheryl-cole-rope-braid
This is super cool - and easy to do at home. Talk about upgrading your ponytail! This style shows off Cheryl's ombre colour, too.
cheryl-cole-shoulder-length-hair
Vintage Chezza alert! Obsessed with Cheryls' adorable, soft curls and that trademark pulled-back section around the crown.
cheryl-cole-slicked-back-hair
Another elegant look from Cheryl, with a polished parting and an evening vibe.
cheryl-cole-updo
With some serious height at the crown and neat chignon, this is an elegant 'do perfect for cocktail hour.
cheryl-cole-wavy-hair
A mini-beehive and long, curly tresses makes for a fun stage look.
