As basic as it sounds, the first step towards clear, bright skin begins with your cleanser. Think of it as soap for your face, but gentler and tailored to your pore’s demands. Whether you’re oily or dry, or a combination of both, your skin deserves to be pampered every night (and morning if your routine requires). However, the road to a glowing complexion shouldn’t be paved in gold, in fact, it can cost mere pocket change.

Picking the right cleanser is half the battle. Depending on how much make-up you wear, how often you touch your skin, how frequently you work out if it’s your period, whether you’re on the pill and your body’s physical chemistry, your skin will require different types of cleaning. If you’re dry and flaky look for something nourishing and milky. If you’re breaking out look for a product that will calm and neutralise your PH with clay or charcoal. Just remember, the sudsier the cleanser won’t necessarily reflect how clean your skin will be at the end!
