EXCLUSIVE: Blake Lively's Hairstylist Gave Us A Tutorial

Between giving her baby girl the cutest boy's name ever and her jaw-droppingly stylish wardrobe for the The Age of Adaline press tour, it's safe to say Blake Lively has gone straight to the top of our lust list. She's fun, she's quirky and she's not afraid to take risks - and in a sea of little black dresses and long bobs, that's reason enough to start crushing on Ms Lively. Her stonking style numbers aside, we can't get enough of her beauty looks right now. Blake's hair is kind of famous in its own right (her much-coveted mane tops many a list of best beauty looks every year), but we love that she's been putting more of a Hollywood twist on her normal, cool, California vibe.

We spoke exclusively to Blake's hairstylist, Rod Ortega, who gave us the lowdown on exactly how he created two of our favourite looks - a sexy, voluminous red carpet number and a sleek and sophisticated evening style. Read on to discover how you too can give your hair the Lively look...

For Blake's curls at the Age of Adeline premiere...

Beginning with damp hair, Rod used the T3 Featherweight Luxe 2i Dryer (£195.00) and the T3 Anti-Gravity 2.5” Round Brush to dry the hair.
Once hair was completely dry, he sectioned the hair into three parts on one side of the head.
He then took ½ inch sections of the hair and curled it with the T3 BodyWaver (£125.00), which creates big, loose movement rather than tight, fussy curls. Rod curled all sections in the same direction, away from her face.
After hair was completely cool, he tilted Blake's head upside down and fully brushed the waves out with the T3 Paddle Brush.
Taking the hair on the other side of the head, Rod French-braided the hair towards the back of the head and secured with bobby pins.
To complete the look, Rod spritzed L’Oreal Elnett hairspray (ed. note - probably the best hairspray ever) for hold.

For her sleek look on the The Tonight Show...

Starting with large-barreled waves, Rod sectioned the hair and used the T3 SinglePass X Wide Flat Iron (£165.00) to straighten the hair and smoothing until sleek.
To finish, Rod sprayed entire Blake's head with hairspray.
