The Best Liquid Lipsticks Out There Right Now, Actually Shown On The Lips

Liquid lipsticks are a bit of a thing right now, aren't they? They're basically everywhere which is no surprise seeing as they're pretty damn great: they pack the pigment of a lipstick while being much easier to apply thanks to the doe foot applicator (that spongey bit on the end).

With this in mind I tried on a range to show you what they look like on and tell you a bit about them. Lots of them dry matte (as a general rule, the more matte the longer they'll probably last) but there's also a few which fall somewhere in the semi-matte range with slightly more of a gloss finish as well as one with a pretty unique finish.

Take a look...

1. Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer in Unity, £3, MUA

The cheapest of them all makes these amazing value for money and they're completely matte.

2. Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick in Thrill Seeker, £19, Smashbox

Crazy pigmented and not too drying, the finish is totally matte.

3. Liquid Lip in Decoy, £8.50, Topshop

This has a velvety texture so it's comfortable to wear but it doesn't dry totally matte – it's somewhere in between.

4. Vernis À Lèvres Vinyl Cream Liquid Lipstick in 411 Rhythm Red, £26, YSL

This is what happens when a lip stain, gloss and lipstick have a baby: long lasting, glossy and pigmented. It has a gel-like feel on the lip.

5. Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour in Fuchsia Flicker, £21, MAC Cosmetics

These dry totally matte and there are 20 super pigmented shades to choose from.

6. Matte Liquid Lipsticks Velvetines, £15, Lime Crime

The longevity of these is amazing and they're completely matte. Plus, the shade range is awesome. These are dropping any day now on ASOS Beauty.

7. Liquid Velvet Lipstick in Envy, £17, Ciaté London

Amazing colour pay off and they don't make your lips feel like you're wearing paint even though they're matte.

8. Vivid Matte Liquid Lipstick in Berry Boost, £6.99, Maybelline

These are semi-matte, almost like a mousse texture, but pack a good amount of pigment.

9. Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita I, £16, Kat Von D at Debenhams

This is one of my favourites because they're dead easy to apply (the long-ish wand is surprisingly ergonomic), dry matte super quickly and last for ages.
