The eyes are windows to the soul so the least we could do is look after them. The skin around your eyes is sensitive due to being thin and delicate yet we usually wear the most makeup on them. I don’t know about you but I am anything but gentle when it comes to taking off my eye makeup, I smudge it all over my face and prod so hard I’m surprised I’m not bruised.
Eye Makeup Remover is the answer to this problem. Usually less harsh than just plain old makeup wipes to help look after the skin around them. But what one to buy? We’ve tried a bunch of them for you at purse-friendly prices (I even did party eyes this morning with this test in mind, oh the things we do for you).
1.Makeup Forever ‘Sens’Eyes’ Eye Cleanser, 30ml £7
The Verdict: 6/10 - It works, but did take a few pumps and rubs
2.Simple Kind To Skin Dual Effect Eye Makeup Remover, 125ml £3.99
The Verdict: 10/10 – Took everything off with one swipe!
3.Superdrug B. Effective Stubborn Makeup Remover, 100ml £7.99
The Verdict: 8/10 – Does the job
4.Rimmel Just Let It Go Gentle Eye Makeup Remover, 125ml £3.59
The Verdict: 6/10 – It was very stingy, could be a personal thing though and it did take everything off
5.Botanics Soothing Eye Make Remover All Bright, 150ml £2.50
The Verdict: 6/10 – Personally I found this one quite oily but I know some people prefer oil-based removers and it does feel like it would work really well on stubborn makeup.
6.No7 Beautiful Skin Eye Make Up Remover, 100ml £8.50
The Verdict: 7/10 – Very gentle but again quite oily, which would definitely remove stubborn makeup. It did leave my eyelids greasy as I struggled to reapply my eyeliner (but if you’re not doing a roundup of eye makeup removers like me, you probably won’t be reapplying makeup immediately after taking it off).
7.Garnier Skin Naturals Express 2 in 1 Eye Makeup Remover, 125ml £3.49
The Verdict: 10/10 – We Love this one! It works quickly and removes everything aaaand it’s also purple guys!
8.Boots Essentials Cucumber Eye Makeup Essentials Gel, 100ml £2.50
The Verdict: 6/10 – I opened the bottle and it dribbled all over me (this could be because I’m an idiot) and it did smudge it around quite a bit before getting rid of it but it’s very cheap, gentle and most importantly - it works.
9.Nivea Double Effect Eye Makeup Remover, 125ml £3.89
The Verdict: 7/10 – Worked well with not much product and was very gentle to my now very sore eyes.
