This is crazy: Harvard graduates have invented a 3D printer that can print out actual make-up.
The Mink computer uses FDA approved ink to create eyeshadows and lipsticks based on any colour you want, and they mean any. You can literally take a photo of a make-up product from the internet, or a photo of your friend’s lipstick for example, then go home and print it out as an actual cosmetic product.
It’s aimed at the younger make-up wearing demographic – 13 to 21-year-olds, apparently because this market is more open to new ideas and companies, ie less loyal to one particular brand.
The computer costs less than $200 and is due to hit the market this year. The official website says: ‘Mink is a desktop printer that prints make-up. It can take any image and instantly transform it into a wearable colour cosmetic, turning any camera, phone or laptop into an endless beauty aisle.’
Is it just us or does this sound like the future is actually here?
