Once upon a time, a big flex meant owning the latest iPhone or getting your hands on the trendiest new designer handbag. Nowadays? You might just get more street cred for what you've got hanging off them. Yes, 2025 has given rise to small luxuries in a trendy new format. What began with a flurry of celebrity-loved funny-looking furry monsters called Labubus (do they really need an introduction?) has evolved into a movement for the return of the Y2K bag charm craze that handily offers up innovative ways to carry our beauty essentials. Need quick hit of luxury hand cream or another lashing of mascara? Find them colourfully adorning your handbag strap. While the TikTok fuelled charm frenzy shows no signs of waning, beauty brands are cooking up more ways to wear the new status symbol, including Victoria Beckham Beauty.

Forget lipgloss holding phone cases or lip butter keychains, ever the trend setter, Victoria Beckham has reimagined the industry's newest trend to serve her luxury-loving, high-performance obsessed customer base. The perfect accessory for summer and beyond (hate to say it already but, we see you party-season), Victoria Beckham Beauty launched not one but three perfume necklaces for its Portofino ‘97, Suite 302 and San Ysidro Drive fragrances.

Making us cling on to what little we have left of summer, Beckham took to Instagram at the weekend to indulge us with some postcards from Portofino, AKA sun-soaked images of herself on a yacht with her go-to product in hand (and neck): the Portofino ‘97 Necklace, £290.

'So, I'm here in Portofino, haven't been back for so many years, brings back so many incredible memories, love it here, it's so beautiful, look. Happy summer,' she says in a video as she pans the coastline. Those memories she speaks of are the inspiration behind her current summer scent.

Speaking of the vision behind Portofino ‘97, Beckham says, 'When David and I first met, we kept our relationship under wraps. This was when I was in the Spice Girls, when we were enormously successful all around the world, and David was playing for Manchester United. In 1997, we decided to take a trip to Portofino. I remember the light, I remember how the hotel smelled and how exciting that time was. I remember it all like it was yesterday.'

Brought to life with top notes of fresh and zesty Calabrian bergamot and black pepper, a heart of warm amber and incense, and a base of woody vetiver and patchouli, the scent captures a warm and sensual escape and now it can be bottled up into a mini yet mighty vial to adorn your décolletage and help you scent on-the-go.

Victoria Beckham has reinvented the meaning of beauty charms with this luxurious perfume necklace which can be filled with her brand's Portofino ’97 fragrance for easy scenting on-the-move.

Sameeha Shaikh, beauty writer, says: 'While you won't catch me rocking bag charms, one beauty accessory I can get on board with is Victoria Beckham Beauty's Perfume Necklaces. Fashionable and functional, the long gold chain is perfect for double wrapping to bring drama to your neckline and the the signature turquoise Portofino ’97 bottle in miniature form is equally eye catching. Plus, and arguably more importantly, it houses the brand's well-loved holiday-ready scent which can easily be swiped on with the attached applicator stick. My only gripe is I have to fill up the juice myself, but that does mean I have a good supply to refill with.'

Pros

  • Ultra-luxe and weighty
  • Elevated charm accessory

Cons

  • Perfume sold seperately
