This month Bottega Veneta launches its new Mezzanotte fragrance collection, three perfumes that join the house's inaugural fragrance line-up, which debuted last year. Mezzanotte, which means midnight in Italian, signifies a move into depth - expect three rich, enveloping scents that capture the gravity of the fashion house's legacy and all the flare of the design it is famed for.

First, a word on the bottles. Each one is made with individually coloured wooden caps and Black Marquina marble bases, making them show-stopping pieces in their own right and that's before you get to the juice. Inspired by the craft and materials of the centuries-long history of Murano glass blowing in Venice, the bottles have been made to mimic the look of mouth-blown glass, while the weighty base is intended to evoke the feeling of being inside one of Venice's many churches and palazzi.

Available exclusively at the house's Harrods pop-up from 2 September.

And now to get acquainted with the scents themselves...
