Today Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II becomes the longest reigning monarch in British history. She has reigned for 63 years and 217 days, beating her great-great-great grandmother Queen Victoria by one day.
To pay tribute to Lilibet (her nickname since childhood) we have created a special fashion flag for HM in this week's issue.
Here are some of our favourite fashion facts about the Queen...
1. She collected coupons for her wedding dress
2. The Queen's coronation gown was embroidered with Commonwealth plants - roses, thistles, leaks and shamrocks.
3. HM's handbags are made by Launer, in patent black, white or beige leather. Inside she is rumoured to carry a Blackberry mobile phone from Prince Andrew.
4. The Queen wears bright colours so that she can be easily identified in a crowd.
5. The Queen never has prominent buttons on display - they always blend into her outfit.6. Rarely seen without gloves, the Queen changes them depending on how many hands she has to shake. By night she's said to prefer a light, nylon glove.
6. To avoid such perils as a sudden gust of wind assaulting one's skirt, the Queen's hemlines have weights swen in them - £1.50 for four from Peter Jones.
7. Angela Kelly has been the head of the Queen's wardrobe team since 1994.
8. There are 12 people in the Queen's wardrobe department, to help her prepare her outfits for visits.
9. All of her clothes are made with natural fibres - 100 per cent pure cotton or wool. She doesn't do linen - the HR doesn't do creases.
10. When the Queen travels, Angela Kelly arranges duplicates of each outfit on standby in case there are any disasters, meaning she can change quickly without anyone noticing.
11. The Queen's hairgel is known in the palace as her 'liquid concrete.'
12. The Queen carries a hook, so she can hang her bag under the table rather than placing it on the floor.
13. HRH never removes her hat in public.
