You just need to look at the cheekbone-tastic My Burberry campaign to know that the combination of Cara Delevingne and Kate Moss is a formidable one - but how did it come about? In a just-released video Christopher Bailey, the Brit brand's chief creative and executive officer, reveals why he chose the duo to face the new fragrance AND gives us a reminder of the models' first ever Burberry shoots.
'We decided to work with two of our iconic Burberry girls that have never actually worked together,' Mr Bailey says of the new campaign. 'You see Mario capturing the spirit of those two girls getting to know each other even better'.
Indeed, Mario Testino, who shot the campaign, also gushes about the superduper models. 'When I started doing Burberry, we decided let's bring Burberry to the people - and who was the best person to communicate that? Kate Moss'. As if we needed proof, we've been treated to this glorious shot of Mossy's early days in the Burbs crew.
As for Cara, the legendary photographer reveals he was surprised that Christopher picked a brand new model when she was first signed up. 'But he was so seduced by her energy that he thought that she would be the perfect person to represent the brand,' says Mario. You may remember it was for a shoot on Brighton beach that CD first made her Burberry debut and now look how far those brows have come!

02 September 2014: Cara And Kate Get Trenched For 'My Burberry'
Back in March we brought you the news that Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne both got trenched for a fragrance campaign for Burberry. Well the day has finally arrived when we can bring you the full works.
This Mario Testino ad is the first time Kate and Cara have been shot together. They both wear matching classic Burberry trenches, with nude strappy sandals and matching centre partings. So very Burberry.
The simple but genius styling was an obvious choice - the fragrance is a nod to the Burberry trench. There is also a video ad where we see the models making it rain with My Burberry, leading them to strip off their trenches and shelter under their coats.
A Burberry campaign wouldn't be a Burberry campaign if it didn't do good things to your iPod. This time Christopher Bailey has chosen “I Put A Spell On You" by British musician Jeff Beck featuring Joss Stone.
So what about the fragrance? Kate Moss says about the new Burbs scent: “What I love about My Burberry is how timeless it is – it's a fragrance that is so effortless, that you can wear it anytime, and anywhere.”
It is inspired by a London garden after the rain, while the glass bottle resembles a - you guessed it - Burberry trench coat with the cap resembling the buttons and a hand-tied ribbon knot made from English-woven gabardine. Christopher Bailey said of the fragrance: “My Burberry is the true embodiment of our brand, in scent, in design and in attitude. A fragrance that takes its lead from the iconic Burberry trench has to be outstanding in every way.”
Cara Delevingne said of her super campaign star: “Kate has such a presence and she has a great sense of humor and style. We had met a few times before we worked on the My Burberry shoot together so I knew we would have fun together and that the pictures would be great. I’ve always admired Kate.”
Sold? Well you'll also be able to personalise your My Burberry bottle with three initials thanks to the monogram service on Burberry.com and in select stores. Cool, huh? On select digital billboards in London and New York you will be able to put your own initials onto the giant My Burberry bottle.
