In fashion land a British Fashion Award is like an Oscar, just with a touch more sequins and shorter acceptance speeches.

This year J.W. Anderson went home with two of the biggest awards of the night - menswear designer AND womenswear designer. He is the first designer to ever win both awards.

Meanwhile Jourdan Dunn won the prestigious model of the year award, and FKA Twigs was presented with the Style Award - Fashion Innovator.

One award that wasn't a surprise on the night however was the Outstanding Achievement Award which was given to Karl Lagerfeld. Natalie Massenet MBE commented on his win: “He is the ultimate visionary and we celebrate not only the decades already passed but those yet to happen. In Karl's hands the future of fashion will be an exceptional one.” That's got to earn him one extra snuggle from Choupette. We raise our can of Diet Coke to you Karl!
