For her fans, Keeping Up With Kendall Jenner is fast becoming a full-time occupation. Having made a seamless transition from reality TV to high fashion, the second youngest Kardashian/Jenner has since launched a top-ranking app, become one of Instagram’s most popular personalities (46.4m followers and counting) – and now been unveiled as the new face of Mango’s Fast Fashion.
Next up? If whispers are to be believed, she’s collaborating on a fashion line with BFF Cara Delevingne. They’ve reportedly trademarked ‘CaKe’, a hybrid of their names, but Kendall won’t be drawn on the details, saying ‘Who says I haven’t already?’ when we ask if she plans to move into fashion design.
Luckily, she’s more forthcoming when it comes to the rest of our quick-fire questions...
What’s your first fashion memory?
My family’s Christmas card where we would dress alike for the photo shoot. My mum always put so much thought into them. It was so fun.
What do you like to borrow from your mum’s wardrobe?
Her accessories are amazing. If I need an evening bag, I just go shopping in her closet.
What is the most treasured item in your own wardrobe?
A pair of Burberry rain boots from my childhood – I can’t wait to see them on my kid one day.
What do you say to people who think you owe your success to being a Kardashian?
It’s a blessing! My family name has benefited my life in so many ways and I wouldn’t change anything it has brought me, I’m very proud of it. But I’ve also worked very hard to get where I am.
How do you balance having such a hectic career with your personal life?
When I’m home I try to spend a lot of time with my family and friends, and when I’m working I make that my main focus and take it seriously. Sometimes I forget I’m still only 20 years old and I need to take time to experience life. I’m still working on finding the balance.
How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?
Maybe 10 minutes. I’m quick, especially if I’m going to a shoot since you need to arrive with a clean face.
What’s the strangest thing you’ve done in the name of beauty or fashion?
Bleaching my eyebrows the first time for the Marc Jacobs show. I barely recognised myself.
What do you wear when nobody’s watching?
Since we film our lives, I think I’ve been seen in almost everything... even my pyjamas.
What are the best and worst things about modelling?
The best part is getting to travel all over the world and meet some of the most creative people working in fashion and art. Adjusting to the different time zones is definitely something I’m always working on.
Do you have any ambitions in any other field than fashion?
This is my focus now but I’m very lucky to have many opportunities and nothing is off the table.
Where do you get your style inspiration?
Kate Moss, Karl Lagerfeld, Kim and Kanye... they all begin with K!
What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
Don’t be late and always be grateful. My dad has ingrained this in me for years!
What would be your one resolution for 2016?
Relax more and worry less.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
On a ranch near the beach, riding a horse, being happy.
What’s your motto?
Keep going!
