Taylor Swift is at the centre of another Twitter spat, but this time it's Calvin Harris firing tweets against Zayn Malik, with Spotify and Miley Cyrus (and inveitably some 1D fans) caught in the cross fire. At the time of publishing Katy Perry hadn't been @-ed.
It all started when Zayn retweeted a tweet by @FemaleTexts which was a split image of contrasting quotes from Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift about having music on Spotify.
Miley's quote reads "Ive made my money. If no one buys my album, cool. It's fine. I've got a house and I've got dogs that I love. I don't need anything else." Taylor meanwhile thinks: "People can still listen to my music if they get it on iTunes. I'm always up for trying something and I tried it and I didn't like the way it felt."
Zayn's take on the debate? Two (kind of) words, 10 letters - 'G statement.'
Here is what happened next…
Calvin tweeted:"You've made your money? Cool...f*** the 99% of musicians who depend on these services to survive right? Yeah f*** em."
Calvin tweeted:"If u don't get what it means when a successful artist uses their celebrity to benefit every other musician and songwriter in the industry...
Calvin tweeted: "...stay out my f***in mentions pls."
Calvin tweeted: "While u kids are refresh voting teen choice awards there's some poor f* in a basement making your new favorite record trying to survive."
Calvin tweeted: "Meaning...stay out of things you don't understand."
Now we got problems...
Zayn replied to Calvin: "ha you just made an absolute fool of yourself mate."
Zayn tweeted to Calvin: "you clearly didn't understand what I just said either."
Zayn tweeted to Calvin: "so i suggest you calm your knickers before them dentures fall out."
Like all good popstar Twitter spats it ended with a compliment or perhaps, in the words of Taylor, a 'saying sorry just for show?' sign off.
Calvin tried to make it right, explaining it wasn't personal, but the two quotes pitted against each other...
Calvin tweeted: 'all good, it was the quote not you personally mate."
To which Zayn replied: "Oh and I write my own s*** too d***head."
Calvin persisted and rounded off the Twitter exchange with the message: "Best of luck, genuinely. You've got a great voice."
Is that the sound of 'Bad Blood, part 2' we hear? Remember these kinds of wounds last and they last...
