Taylor Swift Is Maxim’s #1 On The Hot List (And Not Just Because Of Her Looks)

Maxim magazine has announced who's earned the #1 spot on their 2015 list and it is, of course, Taylor Swift.

The 25-year old called the spot 'an incredible compliment', which is understandable with previous number ones including Bar Rafaeli and Rosie Huntington-Whitely.

But rather than bagging the honour for simply being super hot, the magazine has changed its criteria this year. While the list was previously based purely on physical appeal, it has now redefined hotness. "For me, the barometer of hot isn’t just beauty; it’s relevance,” says Kate Lanphear, who started as Maxim editor last September. So instead of ranking the celebrated women, they will instead be organised into categories such as "Women Who Rock" and "Fashion Phenoms" based on their careers.

With Taylor selling over 8.6 million copies worldwide of her album '1989' and being named Billboard Woman of the Year for the second time on Saturday, she really is hot in every sense of the word. As Kate describes it, Taylor is 'the quintessential American success story' so it's hardly surprising the singer landed the top spot.

In the exclusive interview with Maxim, Taylor talks about her tour and staying in touch with friends. 'This year has been my favorite year of my life so far. I got to make an album exactly the way I wanted to make it,' she said. 'I got to put it out exactly the way that I dreamed of putting it out. Every one of these kinds of whims and ideas came to fruition'.

She also opened up about her newfound attitude towards feminism: 'Misogyny is ingrained in people from the time they are born. So to me, feminism is probably the most important movement that you could embrace.' Amen to that.
