Last night was the Met Gala and this year the dress code was code "Chinese white tie," to tie in with the exhibition "China: Through the Looking Glass." For most this translated into wearing red. For Madonna it meant wearing a cape with your album name on it. While for Rihanna it meant wearing the most fabric she could get her hands on.
Beyonce turned up to the red carpet an hour after we all though the red carpet had ended, wearing a sheer custom Givenchy gown with the definition of strategically placed sequins. Yup, she was pretty much naked.

Now onto the star that we all thought walked last (pre-Bey), Rihanna. The singer pretty much dared the internet to do their worst when she turned up in a Chinese couture Guo Pei yellow MASSIVE dress. She shut the red carpet down - omlette comparisons or not.
Now we can't talk about comparisons without mentioning Anne Hathaway who wore a gold caped Ralph Lauren gown on International Star Wars Day. Twitter had just six words for Hathaway - may the fourth be with you.
Kim Kardashian was the first to wear Peter Dundas for Roberto Cavalli at the Met Gala, wearing a sheer gown covered in intricate pearl-coloured beading leading down to a dramatic feathered skirt. This dress is incredibly similar however to the purple and black dress Beyonce wore to the Met Gala in 2012. Even more surprising than SJP wearing H&M.
Now we come to our ladies in red. We have... Hailey Steinfeld, Helen Mirren, Poppy Delevingne (wearing poppies), Jennifer Lopez, Allison Williams, Anna Wintour, Karen Elson, Sienna Miller and, err, Kris Jenner all wore red.
A possible contender for best dressed is Disney princess Zendaya, who wore a Fausto Puglisi above-the-knee skirt with a long red satin train and topped off the look with a crown.
