Mia Goth has become the girl to watch. The British-Canadian actress is a rising star and has just 'married' actor Shia LaBeouf in a live-filmed stunt. But who is Mia Goth? Here's everything you need to know.
Where Is Mia Goth From?
Mia Goth, full name Mia Gypsy Mello Da Silva Goth, was born in Southwark, London, to a Brazillian-born mother and a Canadian-born father. The family lived in Brazil until Mia was 12-years-old and then moved back to the UK to settle in Lewisham, London.
She has many homes across the globe, from her dad’s waterside pad in Canada where she learnt her lines for Nymphomaniac, to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil - the home of her grandmother and actress, Maria Gladys.
Mia now splits her time between London and Los Angeles.

What has Mia Goth Been In?
Mia first appeared on screen in the TV series The Tunnel (2013), but her first big role was in the sexually-charged and controversial film Nymphomaniac (2013), created by Danish filmmaker, Lars von Trier. He is famed for his incredibly provocative and intense films, from Melancholia (2011) to Anti-Christ (2009), which have divided opinion due to being raw and graphic, and have often been dubbed misogynistic.
Mia Goth Nymphomaniac
Nymphomaniac proved to be no exception – a two-part epic exploring the life of sex addict and sadomasochist Joe, played by Charlotte Gainsbourg. The plot is driven by a plentitude of sex scenes, of which are very much real. Mia Goth plays Joe’s nympho protégé 'P’ who is taken under her wing both maternally and sexually - quite an audacious film debut for the then 20-year-old.
Since then, Mia has played Meg Weathers in Everest (2015) and Milja in The Survivalist (2015), for which she admitted in an interview with the Guardian that to fully immerse herself into the role she didn't wash for five weeks. The film even recieved a nomination from the British Independent Film Awards.
Mia Goth A Cure For Wellness
Mia's most recent film was A Cure For Wellness, directed by Gore Verbinski, co-starring Dane DeHaan, it was a psychological horror released in March 2017. See the trailer below:
The Guardian called it a 'slick horror full of plot holes.' Mia plays Hannah - a mysterious young girl who resides in a rehabilitation centre in the Swiss Alps. 'Mia Goth is suitably unearthly as Volmer’s “special case”, Hannah,' said The Guardian's review. 'But all the style and slithering horror is not enough to glue together a plot that favours atmosphere over coherence and overstays its welcome by at least 30 minutes.'

Not a face to be overlooked, Mia Goth's ethereal beauty and barely-there brows make her incredibly photogenic. Off-duty, Mia Goth's makeup is minimal, letting her interesting features do all the talking.

She was discovered by stylist and photographer Gemma Booth at the Underage festival in Victoria Park at age 15, and was soon signed to Storm Model Management. She then appeared in Vogue and was the face of Mui Mui. However, Mia has always wanted to be an actress.
In an interview with i-D magazine Mia said, 'I want to be a woman who has a little bit more figured out, who doesn’t have so many doubts […] And then I would like to have a whole list of directors I have worked with – Woody Allen, Paul Thomas Anderson […] I just want to act. And I want to be good. And I want to be happy, and I think that’s it'.
Mia Goth and Shia LaBeouf
One of the reasons Mia may be popping up on your radar lately is because she is linked to actor Shia LaBeouf. Mia and Shia met on the set of Nymphomaniac in 2013, and after dating for three years they sparked speculation rumours in March 2015.
They married last year (October, 2016) in Viva Las Vegas chapel, and the wedding was live-streamed and picked up by TMZ (apparently unbeknown to Shia).

The footage shows the couple exchanging vows; Shia ended his with: 'I’ll do whatever you ask me to', to which Mia replied, 'I’m pretty much going to do whatever I want' at the end of hers. It has since been realised, though, that the wedding wasn't actually legal.
However, the Hollywood romance didn't blossom without a few bumps along the way, as the pair were filmed fighting in Germany in 2015, with Shia threatening to 'hit' and 'kill' Mia. He then fuelled rumours that he and Mia had split for good when he was repeatedly pictured with an unknown girl. That girl turned out to be Sasha Lane, one of this year's breakout stars who plays the lead, alongside Shia, in the raw coming-of-age drama American Honey, directed by Andrea Arnold.
Shia and Mia are very much together now though; Shia told Ellen DeGeneres in a recent interview that he was 'proud' of their love for each other.

However, she has recently deleted a lot of her posts and now has only a handful of pictures on her feed.
