As the mercury plummets, this season’s cosiest trend is getting a serious A-list following. If you’re looking to wrap up tight against the elements, there is nothing better than Autumn Winter 2013’s teddy bear coat to see you through the winter wilderness. With designers including Dries van Noten, Tommy Hilfiger and Vika Gazinskaya borrowing fluffy teddy bear fur from iconic teddy bear brand Steiff and other labels including Maxmara creating huge, cocooning teddy coats the look has found plenty of fans on the catwalk.

First out in the look was former French Vogue Editor, Carine Roitfeld who worked a huge, caramel coloured oversized coat by Maxmara during Paris Fashion Week. Then we saw Kim Kardashian sport the same style while out in New York with her little girl North. Next we spied Alexa Chung in an Instagram snap receiving a Steiff teddy bear coat by hot emerging designer Isa Arfen. Now the style star's been spotted trotting around the streets of New York wearing her own fluffy brown version.

If you too are looking to recreate the Teddy Look, you can either go for luxe shearling or cosy faux fur. One of the reasons that designers have been so enamoured with Steiff teddy fur is becasue it is that it offers a super warm alternative to fur. The plush, soft finish is also available in a host of colours - just check out Alexa with her baby blue style. So don't let the chill get you down, make like this stylish trio and work a teddy coat!*
